Principal's Letter
1-15-08
 
Dear Parents, 
 
It seems as though the snow is gaining on us even though we're still
early in January!  If you've had trouble finding out if school is
closed, please see the student handbook on page 4 for a list of media
sources that announce school closures.  In addition, whenever school is
closed, all MJHS practices, rehearsals, and events for the day are also
cancelled.  The school office is always open if safety allows from
7:30-9:15 on closure days.   We're into our second snow day in as many
weeks and it has affected our end of semester finals schedule somewhat
this week.  Please see the revised schedule below.  
 
Finals scheduled for today, Tuesday will be given tomorrow, Wednesday as
follows:
English
Social Studies
Math - Day One
 
Finals Scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday will be given Thursday as
follows:
Math - Day Two
Foreign Language
Electives
Science
 
Teachers have already been preparing students for their end of semester
assessments and this minor change should not be a big surprise.  If you
get this email today and your son or daughter has some extra time, it
might be a good idea to do a little extra studying to prepare for any
upcoming tests that are scheduled.
 
Our second semester starts on Tuesday, January 22.  All students will
receive their new schedules this Thursday during their lunches.
Schedules are being finalized at this time, and some draft second
semester schedules were visible on PowerSchool for a short time.  We let
students know that any schedules they may have seen are not finalized
until their new paper copies are distributed this Thursday.
 
If your son or daughter is in Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, or Select Choir,
they will have their group photo taken this Thursday during their
regular class period.  All student members have been asked to wear their
performance gear for this event. Sports photos will also be taken on
Thursday.  This is also a re-scheduled event that was to have taken
place today, Tuesday.    
 
I've attached a calendar of events at the bottom of this letter.  We are
in need of parent chaperones to help with our all-school Winter Dance to
be held on Thursday February, 14th from 3:30-6:30.  If you are able to
help out, please contact the school office or email Mr. Hill at
khil at sd281.k12.id.us.  As always we appreciate your assistance and
support on behalf of all the students at MJHS.
 
Stay warm and don't shovel too much snow.  Anybody want to buy a
snowblower?!?
