[Mjhsteam] Parent Support Team Meeting January 8th

Dear Parents,

 

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2008!  Our first Parent Support Team
meeting for the New Year will take place January 8th at 7:15 a.m. in Room
215.  We encourage all parents to attend.   This month, we'll be meeting
with school counselors to plan an upcoming Parent Night.  The counselors
would like to hear from parents about the types of information that would be
most helpful in understanding and addressing the changing needs of our
junior high kids.  

 

Hope to see you on January 8th.  The minutes from December's PST meeting
appear below.

MJHS Parent Support Team 

Meeting Minutes

December 4, 2007

 

 

Principal's Report:

*	Writing partners reception - partnership with University of Idaho.
Students write back and forth with a university student partner.  The
program is open to GT and regular students.
*	Lifeskills classes will go to Safeway tomorrow and December 12th
*	Thursday, December 6th - Recognition assembly to all students in
fall athletics
*	Students involved in leadership will do team building exercises at
the University Inn

*	Holiday Concert on December 7th at the Kibbie Dome with the Select
Choir and High school choir
*	December 11th - Geography Bee
*	Orchestra Concert December 12th
*	Insomnia Outbreak Dance December 14th
*	School Counselors would like to organize a school Parent Night in
the New Year, dealing with traumatic issues in children's lives
*	Toy Drive this week

 

T Shirt Sales:  Susan Mahoney - Will make $1200 off of t-shirt/sweatshirt
sales.  The sale was more successful this year.  Proceeds will be used for
theater curtains.

 

Box Tops: Quite a few that still need to be counted.

 

Teacher Appreciation Event  Marie Charles will be organizing the next event.
It will take place on December 12, and will be a breakfast with a holiday
theme. 

 

The next PST meeting will take place on January 8th  in Room 215.
