Dear Parents,

At approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning, an unknown individual attempted
to make contact with a female Moscow Junior High School student as she
walked to school. The student is to be commended for doing exactly as
she has been trained. She got away from the situation, came immediately
to the school office, and reported as many details as she could
remember.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Moscow Police
Department and the administration of the Moscow School District.

The individual is described as being in his early twenty's and has a
clean-cut "goatee-style" beard. His hair was described as "orange" and
short. He was reportedly driving an older mid-1990's white short cab
pick-up with an orange stripe, possibly a Chevrolet, with a cab-height
canopy.

All MJHS students will receive information before going home from school
today. Moscow School District students receive multiple trainings and
reminders throughout their school years to be watchful for unusual
situations that may be unsafe.

If you have information about this, or other unsafe situations, please
call the Moscow Police Department, Moscow Junior High School, or WeTip,
which is our anonymous crime tip hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.

Sincerely,

Dale Kleinert, Principal

Moscow Junior High School
