This is a reminder that our monthly Insurance & Surety Committee call is scheduled for Monday, June 17, 2019 - beginning at Noon (Eastern).  Attached for our call are the following: (1) Agenda for Monday's call; (2) the May Meeting Minutes (PDF); and (3) the insurance-related legislation that will be the topic of our call.  If you would like to present at our next open CLE spot, which is on our July 15, 2019 call, or if you have any topic suggestions for the July, August, or September 2019 CLE's, please don't hesitate to contact our Vice Chair Katherine Heckert or myself.

Our speakers for Monday's CLE will be myself and Trey Goldman.  Mr. Goldman is a long-time member and contributor to the Committee, and he is Legal Counsel for the Florida Realtors. We will be providing an insurance legislation update.  This has been a very active legislative session in Florida for the insurance industry.  There were multiple pieces of insurance-related legislation introduced, debated, and ultimately passed, all of which have changed significant aspects of the insurance landscape and marketplace.  Our presentation will focus on two bills that were passed by the Legislature, namely HB 301 and HB 7065, as well as one bill, HB 751, that died in committee but proposed a troubling change to the statutorily enumerated causes of action against insurers.  We will also provide a brief update on the status of the NFIP renewal.
