Folks,

I hope everyone has had a happy and festive holiday season thus far.  And as we prepare for the new year (and to digest all the holiday feasts and eggnog that we can possibly take in), we hope you all can join us for our last Insurance & Surety Committee Meeting of 2019.  Our call is scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2019 - beginning at Noon (Eastern).

Attached for our call are the following: (1) Agenda for Monday's call; (2) the November Meeting Minutes; and (3) the PowerPoint presentation for Monday's CLE.  If you would like to present, or have any topic suggestions, for one of our upcoming CLE spots, which are currently the January 27, 2020, February 24, 2020, and March 16, 2020 meetings, please don't hesitate to contact our Vice Chair Katherine Heckert or myself.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the National Holidays on the third Mondays of January and February, we will hold our monthly calls for those months instead on the FOURTH MONDAY of each of those months.  Please make sure you have that marked on your calendars, as we hope to have you all able to attend each of our meetings.

We are excited to welcome back Frederick J. Fisher, JD, CCP, as our speaker for Monday's CLE.  His presentation on Monday is called  "The Dangers that May Lurk..." - INSURANCE GOTCHYA'S COMMON TO ALL D&O/ EPLI/ CYBER & E&O FORMS and the resultant claims problems.  Back in July, Mr. Fisher presented "INSURANCE 101 FOR ATTORNEYS: How the Industry Functions on a Day to Day Basis so You Can Better Serve Your Clients," which provided some very interesting insight into and illuminating context to the day to day workings of the insurance industry.  So, we are very glad to have him present for us again on Monday.

As you all may recall, Mr. Fisher is President of Fisher Consulting Group, and previously was Founder and Sr. Vice President of E.L.M. Insurance Brokers, a Wholesale & MGA facility specializing in Professional Liability and Specialty Line risks.  In 1994 he formed what is now known as ELM insurance Brokers, a firm that has acted as an MGA and wholesale broker of Professional Liability Insurance and Specialty Lines. He has lectured extensively on professional liability issues since 1978, and he has authored over 64 articles in trade journals and periodicals. He is also the author of BROKER BEWARE, Selling Real Estate within the Law. In 1993, he was elected to the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) Board of Trustees. After serving in all Officer capacities, he was elected President in 1997.
