[Liability Insurance] Florida Bar RPPTL Insurance & Surety Committee Conference Call - Monday, March 20, 2017, beginning at Noon

Folks,

This is a reminder that our monthly call is scheduled for Today, March 20, 2017 - beginning at Noon.

Our speaker for this today's meeting is Mr. James Van Meter, J.D., who is currently the Aviation Practice Leader for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, and he will be presenting to us on the Unique Risks Posed by Unmanned Aircraft Systems ("UAS"), also commonly referred to as "drones."  His presentation will cover not only some of the risks inherent in using drones in a commercial setting but also manage those risks.  He will also cover the key issues to be aware of with UAS insurance coverage, as well as provide some analysis of the ISO Forms and the competing aviation insurance industry forms for UAS ("drone") insurance.  Mr. Van Meter serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Eastern Region and the Product Line Leader for General Aviation Hull & Liability. In his role as the Product Line Leader for General Aviation Hull & Liability, Mr. Van Meter serves as the Subject Matter Expert and Product Head for Unmanned Aircraft Systems.  He is widely regarded as an expert in unmanned aircraft insurance and risk management and is frequently sought as a speaker at national conferences and across the United States including: RIMS, The Aviation Insurance Association Conference, The American Bar Association Aviation Litigation Conference, and the Event Safety Alliance.

Mr. Van Meter earned a Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School and is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he earned both a Master of Business Administration in Aviation and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration. James is registered drone pilot and an active licensed pilot with Commercial, Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings. James served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. James is a licensed attorney in the state of California and a licensed property and casualty insurance agent in the state of Georgia.
