[RPPTL-constructionlaw] CLC Meeting tomorrow at 11:30 am / "Ground Control to Major Arnie"

CLC'ers,

First, the business... we have a telephonic committee meeting tomorrow starting at 11:30AM.  The call-in information is 888-376-5050 and PIN Number is 1326538415.  The agenda and attendance links are in the attached document.  (Note that this is a change.  You will not get a separate attendance email).

Our speakers are John Biesinger and Paul Kelly, who will speak about "What Construction Attorneys Need to Know About the BP Settlement Program."   Their flyer is attached.

Now, more importantly, I ask you this: What can you say about Arnie Tritt?  (Don't try.  It's a rhetorical question... and besides, we've locked all of you out from replying to this announcements listserv anyway).

But, if you worked for the [REDACTED] and all you knew was what you had been reading in his emails, you might say he likes chicken wings, Maker's Mark, Monopoly, and scratching himself.  You might say he thinks some of our membership used to wrestle in Russia.  You might say he has reality show ideas and a crowd-funding proposal to film [REDACTED].  You might say he claims an interesting approach to addressing concrete failure modes by [REDACTED].  And, you might say that, as his tour as chair drew to a close, he became severely confounded by the summer solstice and adopted strange notions that our monthly CLC meetings are "a Trans-Dimensional Escape Pod."

Indeed, these concerns caused me to travel to Jacksonville recently to check on Arnie.  I found him in his backyard clutching a scrub brush.  When he saw me he said, "You in the red shirt, I have a mission for you!"  As I ran away into the darkness, I snapped the photo below and heard him scream, "Warp Factor 7, Padwan!"

If you knew more than what you read in Arnie's monthly emails, you would know he's a stellar construction lawyer with a great sense of humor.  He's given tirelessly to our committee, contributing greatly to the professionalism and collegiality of the Construction Bar in Florida.  I'm not just saying that.  From when Arnie began as membership chair to now, we've increased from 125 to almost 600 members.  Our monthly meetings regularly have 60 to 80 participants. This is a team sport, of course, and Arnie had done a great job moving the ball forward, building on the work of others, and encouraging the rest of us to keep up the momentum and actively support this growing committee.

Poor Arnie though.  So frazzled now.  His life force almost spent upon the mantle of the CLC.  Think of him during our call on Monday and treat him gently.  We must nurse him back to reality and hope some of our words reach him in his "Mission Control" in Jacksonville where he sits clutching his "Space Scepter" protected under the warmth of his tin foil helmet.
