RCW 84.64.060 provides that
"Any person owning a recorded interest in lands or lots upon which judgment is prayed, as provided in this chapter, may in person or by agent pay the taxes, interest and costs due thereon to the county treasurer of the county in which the same are situated, at any time before the day of the sale; and for the amount so paid he or she will have a lien on the property liable for taxes, interest, and costs for which judgment is prayed;" Provided that your party's interest falls within this provision you should be fine up to the day before sale.
If possible you might consider paying the taxes before the tax foreclosure action is filed to save the extra costs, interest and penalties

Hi Listmates,
I'm in the process of a judicial foreclosure in Pierce County. We have been informed that due to arrears in property tax, the County plans on filing their own foreclosure on May 9, with an auction to take place on November 4.
Do you see any issues affecting my existing foreclosure, especially if I can accomplish a sheriff's sale before their November date?
A Foreclosure Avoidance Coordinator at Pierce County told me that their lawsuit does not prevent the sale or transfer of ownership at any time during their process, up until the day of their auction of November 4, but I would rather hear if you all had any experience with this.
Thanks.
