I always name the "NA". Check if the local operate as subsidiaries of the
NA. Or name them as a dba. 

Remember, there is a Department of Financial Institutions that will also
provide information for you.

Dear List-Mates,

 

Question on a quiet title matter I'm doing for a client. We had an old REK
that was assigned to a local bank, which subsequently merged with another
local bank, and eventually merged with KeyBank in the 1990s.

 

I'm bringing the quiet title action against KeyBank due to them not being
willing to provide me with a fulfillment deed, just a satisfaction of
mortgage from KeyBank National Association, which the title company won't
accept to clear the REK.

 

However, the only Key entity currently registered with the WA SOS is the
parent corp, KeyCorp. Would I just identify "KeyCorp" as the Defendant, or
also "KeyBank National Association", or both? Or maybe just "KeyCorp, its
successors and assigns?"
