Craig: I believe a timber trespass claim is personal to the one who cut the trees as a defendant, and for plaintiffs/victims, once they sell the damaged land the claim would die, unless they affirmatively assigned those claims to their buyer and buyer/owner sues within the statute of limitations. Remember, it is an alleged claim, not a lien until a judgment. -Greg Ursich, Inslee Best

If the owner of the land that was trespassed upon sells, does he/she lose standing in a suit for recovery of damages?
