Dear Listserv:

Question: The 2023 change in LL-T law in Washington dictates that security
deposit can’t be charged for cleaning carpets at move-out after normal use.
I know non-refundable fees are acceptable under the law if identified as
such in the lease, so any thoughts on whether you must say what that
non-refundable fee is to be used for or is it ok to just say that there is
a non-refundable fee to keep it simple?

Thank You,

Nicole
