Subject: Re: [WSBARP] Duty to HOA members
I represent multiple homeowners associations both in PlaT communities as
well as condominiums Although I represent the association my contact is
usually with the manager of the association or it's designated
representative contact as determined by the board of directors so any time I
got an inquiry from a member I would refer that inquiry to the board and or
the manager for them to determine their response and clearly any e-mail
between myself and the board or the manager are confidential and covered by
the attorney-client privilege and it can only be released to a member
through the appropriate request for records to the board who can withhold
communications with the associations attorney if appropriate under the
attorney-client privilege exemption.

Subject: [WSBARP] Duty to HOA members
Greetings all, we have represented an HOA for the past few years and
recently withdrew as attorney. A member at large is asking for emails that I
have had with the current Chairman of the Board. I don't believe I have an
obligation to honor that request. Seems to me members should request that
information from the Board; not me. Thoughts?
Regards, Tom
