[WSBARP] Recording in Snohomish County

Dear All:

I just had a quitclaim deed package rejected, in part, because I did not annotate the Tax Code Area (TCA) on the REETA. Not being aware of any requirement to do so, I called Snohomish County and was told that "the Department of Revenue told us they wanted that." The representative gave me no indication as to how we, as practitioners, should know about that "requirement." The representative said that we should enter the TCA underneath the parcel number or as an additional code in Block 5.

Practice point for recording in Snohomish County: do what the representative said (insert smiley face).
