At least immediately file criminal complaint for criminal identity theft and fraud and ask for restitution for any attorney's fees your client incurs (my son does that type of prosecution in SnoCo). I believe the $ amount for felony is pretty low. For civil, I think it is fraud.

Subject: [WSBARP] Identity theft question

We have a client whose former girlfriend forged an electronic signature of his to enter into a contract.

We've got the defense against the party who is suing my client under the contract covered, but...

What would be the cause of action against the girlfriend for the forgery? Is it some kind of conversion?
