It depends on the amendment if it is one that affects unit boundaries, the square footage of units, allocations of interest, or any other amendment which would accompany an amended survey then it must be run by the assessors office. However I have done many amendments of condos in King County were all we were changing was whether their units could be rented, responsibility for certain cost items etcetera and it was not necessary to run those amendments for approval through the assessors office.

Subject: [WSBARP] King County Recording Rejection

Hi all,

Trying to e-record an amended condominium declaration, and King County is rejecting it with the following explanation. "MUST BE SIGNED OFF BY THE ASSESSORS OFFICE AND CANNOT BE SUBMITTED THROUGH ERECORDING."

I've not encountered this before. Can anyone advise on how to accomplish this, assuming it is indeed necessary?

Many thanks,
