[WSBARP] What's a "tract-book" search?

I just ran across a reference from somebody a couple of years ago who said they had a "tract book" search report from a title company, apparently to confirm ownership of a parcel that had multiple owners. Is that a thing that might help determine ownership when there are multiple tenant in common owners? Ordinarily I would order a subdivision guarantee or a litigation guarantee for that purpose.
