For school activities, it may be possible to partner with one of the foundations already doing this. For Seattle Schools, check out Alliance for Education https://www.alliance4ed.org/school-account-services/ They provide the donation platform for credit cards and check depositing and control disbursement of the money. That program may be unique to Seattle Schools, but in general, you can partner with an existing non-profit with 501(c)(3) status and shared mission so you don't have to deal with the setup yourself.

Colleagues-

Seeking direction and referrals.

PC facilitates an academic competition for high schools.

Originally, [1974] it was funded by big company, was handed off to a (community) college who orphaned the program, and has since been sustained by volunteers.

There has along the way been decent prize money. Prize dollars were reduced when corporate sponsorship was withdrawn, but the program survived.

PC is hugely motivated to continue the program and is pursuing alternate fund raising-but is not able to manage the dollars through a high school's ASB account because of restrictions on how such dollars can be used.

There appear to be local donors with considerable interest, but no place to hold dollars that can later be used for prize money.

Anyone out there know anyone who can assist?
