No firsthand experience but I know a couple of years ago they paid $110M to settle complaints about their servicing practices brought by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  Perhaps they still haven’t learned their lesson.

Have any of you experienced problems with Nationstar / Mr Cooper not accepting payments for any reason?  I’ve got a situation where they rejected a client’s payment for nearly the balance owed because “Our payment system will not apply any payment that is within 90% of the payoff to the account.”  They then rejected a wire payment in the same amount that was annotated as being made to paydown the loan because they still for some reason thought that it was intended to be a payoff.

Now, with a balance of around $2,000 on the home loan, they are threatening foreclosure.  If they had accepted the initial payment, the balance should have been about $750.
