I’ve posted the below on a couple different listservs, trying to find the correct forum. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

A neighbor had significant damage to a large, mature, and old section of their hedge at the street-side of their property by a careless construction truck, which had a brake failure on a hill, crashing through their front yard. Also damages to a sailboat and other personal property.

They have obtained estimates for replace/repair the hedge and the personal property in the $64,000 range. The construction company insurance co., Alaska National, made an offer of about $6,400 while admitting to liability but disputing the damages.

Has anyone had the chance to engage with Alaska National and would someone have a minute to bounce this idea around with me?

If a referral is the best choice, I’d be happy to make that referral.

Thanks!
