[WSBARP] Golf course liability

Does anyone have any authority as to liability of golfers and golf course owners for damage to neighboring properties that were built up years after golf course was established. PC is a private club and recently townhomes were built along several fairways years after golf course was established and errant balls from time to time hit the homes and they are looking to golf club for relief I realize this is somewhat off list but assistance would be appreciated it seems that case law from other jurisdictions are all over the map. Thank you
