Thanks, Roger.
I’ll explain to them that is an option to consider.
If they went that route, though—do you handle a Spanish speaking landlord (tenant as well)? I couldn’t tell whether you would want them to call you or go with one of the other mediators you referred to.

Before proceeding to eviction, the caller should consult a professional neutral who is a tenant landlord relationship master, and conversant in the practical side of lease compliance/property management. I liaise with Spanish speaking mediators in this arena; it’s possible to investigate and negotiate exit plans online in shuttle negotiation.

The woman who called you may be in violation of her lease. You describe a space sharing deal - evicting under those circumstances is harrowing. Finesse rules, and the parties can learn how to avoid peril in future.

Hello, Listmates.

I got a call from a woman in the Des Moines area who regrets sub-letting the lower part of the house she rents to some unpleasant tenants. Has a written lease. Not my field, so any referrals for folks who do evictions I can pass on to her are welcome. Spanish-speaking is a plus.

Thanks.
