[WSBARP] off-topic referral re employment law

Dear Colleagues,

At a recent Clallam County pro bono legal clinic, I assisted a 59 year old
disabled (bi-polar) woman whom, I believe, was wrongfully terminated from a
job (kitchen worker) at a social welfare agency office where she had worked
for nearly 4 years and had consistently received highly positive performance
evaluations and regular pay raises.

She was fired by a new supervisor for allegedly abusing an agency client
(she had accidentally pushed the disabled client when she was showing him
how to put his plate in the dishwasher and, apparently, this “victim”
demonstrated an unreasonably high level of agitation).

She was never afforded any kind of fact finding review hearing by the
agency’s HR department, but was merely terminated the following day based
upon the oral grievance presented by the aggrieved client.

 

The incident occurred May 10, 2018, and I understand she has 180 days to
present a complaint to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

She is receiving Employment Security benefits for the next year along with
her Social Security Disability income.

 

She has been looking for work in the same field (kitchen worker) but is
obligated to disclose to prospective employers that she was terminated for
“client abuse”, effectively making her unemployable.

She is not motivated to sue and merely is seeking someone willing to legally
help her remove this “stain” so she can go back to work.

 

Is anyone willing to assist her or provide me with adequate guidance to
accomplish her objective?
