[WSBARP] Joint and Several Tenancy Issues

All

An issue has cropped up with a client who is sharing (renting) a house with
another person (not family, purely platonic). After the expiration of the
one year lease, it has become month to month. My client wants to move out
and give 20 days' notice to do so. In the absence of a joint and several
liability clause, what are his potential liabilities in the event he leaves
and his roommate stays beyond the month for which he has given notice??

Thanks,

Scott Hildebrand
