Hello Listmates,

I'm looking for guidance/clarification on the
interplay of RCW 11.04.250 and RCW 6.23.

If a deceased owner's
(
adult
)
child is living in the deceased parents' home, and the home is judicially
foreclosed, under RCW 11.04.250,
does the adult child become a successor in interest of the
debtor-redemptioner? Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

 My gut also says the homestead exemption does not apply because the
parents executed a mortgage on the property, and the child's interest is
subject to that mortgage. Is this correct? Or does the adult child have
to do a homestead declaration?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,
