Unfortunately, Pierce County requires you to appear in person for ex parte
to open a probate. Most other counties, you can send it in for the ex
parte department calendar. You go to the ex parte courtroom and log into
their computer and then they call you. You need to get the file from the
clerk’s office first so make sure you do that first.

Subject: [WSBARP] Pierce County Probate

I have commenced probates in several counties by mail.

My mailed packet to Pierce County was just returned marked “personal
appearance required to commence probate.”

Will a “personal appearance” by me as the attorney suffice or does the
court expect the PR to appear with me?

Thanks, Ron

MOUNT VERNON OFFICE ON MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY
