Go to an official automobile license agent that is private. Don’t go to the state DOL agency office. The private people usually know about work around arrangements. You should be able to take possession of that vehicle and title it in the estate, although if it’s going to be sold, You may just want to sign off as personal representative give the buyer a death certificate, give the buyer copies of your letters and sign a reciprocal bill of sale with recitals that explain the current situation with regard to license and registration and requiring the buyer to complete the title process to perfect title in the their own personal name at their personal expense and liability within a certain number of days. Also include the contract attorney fee award provision in case in the provision is breached or done un timely.Terry Gobel
