[WSBAPT] Quick Question

I have dealt with Senior Support Services for many years and have found them to be ethical.  I used to name "Senior Support Services, Inc. of Bellingham, Washington," in Wills and POAs, but more recently have been naming "Iris W. Kingston, of Senior Support Services, Inc. of Bellingham, Washington, or her assigns or successors."  Occasionally, clients will name Senior Support Services (or another similar entity) as PR or AIF if the client does not have anyone else available, for a variety of reasons.

Wow, their webpage lists "Trust Administration" and "Estate Representation" services and states such broad statements as "We are often appointed as the administrator or executor of an estate. Many individuals do not want to burden their family members or friends with this duty. Others don't have anyone they are comfortable assigning such an important task..."  Curiously, their "staff" webpage states "Staff page is under construction" so it is impossible to tell how many people are included in the use of the royal "we" (as in "We are often appointed...").  Thanks for the tip.

Senior Support Services is not a trust company under RCW 11.36.010.  Therefore, under RCW 11.36. 010(1) it does not qualify as a personal representative.  That is why you would name Iris Kingston as the personal representative individually.

Client wants to appoint "Senior Support Services" in Bellingham (and the client has talked with them) as personal representative under her Will.  Senior Support Services advises the client that the client must identify a specific person at Senir Support Services "or her successor".  I have no problem drafting the Will as directed but, as a general question, I question the need to appoint a specific person as opposed to appointing an entity.
