Greetings List Members -
I had a probate, Decedent died in 2022. They just received a collection
notice on behalf of GEICO for an accident 14 months after death. There was
only one vehicle, it was lawfully transferred (receipts from the DOL) - so
it is impossible that my Decedent (or his vehicle) was involved.
The case has long since closed and I am not sure as to what advice to give
the former Executor. Notice is being sent to the named person and not the
Estate of.....simply throw away? return to sender as deceased? Attempt to
reason with a collection agency?
Appreciate any thoughts on next steps.
