Mark,

I do not believe the Grantee will get a step-up as this transfer is by gift
before death; why not have Grantor do a Transfer on Death Deed, then the
Grantee gets a new basis.

Jeff

Subject: [WSBAPT] Quitclaim Deed with Reservation of Life Estate

Dear Listmates:

Do any of you have an example of such a deed that you would be willing to
share? Grantor wants to continue to live in the property until s/he dies.

When Grantor does die, will the Grantee get a step up in basis?

In advance, thanks much.
