Listmates,

Decedent executed a Will in Illinois, where he resided at the time. The Will is silent on the issue of governing law. Decedent subsequently moved to Washington and passed away. Per RCW 11.12.020, the Will is valid if it was executed in accordance with either Washington or Illinois law, either at the time of execution or at the time of death. But what about the construction of the Will? Is the construction of the Will governed by Illinois law or Washington law?

Sincerely,
Jon M. Fritzler
