When people come in to sign their wills in our office or any other estate planning we discussed whether or not they want to make such a direction and if they do then these instructions are filled out signed and witnessed and then made part of their will /estate planning packet Our experience is that a large majority of our clients want to have this filled out especially those that are desiring cremation..

Subject: [WSBAPT] To include or not to include....that is my question

Greetings List Members -

I am curious as to where you fall on the inclusion of body disposition IN THE WILL.

I normally do not include it, unless specifically asked, because I wrap it into my conversation about the General/Financial POA, and specifically have an authorization that extends the life of the POA under RCW 68.50.160(3)(b).

I am curious as to why it gets included in Wills when the PR won't be appointed for several days after death and most people want to get on with the process rather than waiting for an executor.

Appreciate hearing other thoughts on this.
