[WSBAPT] IRS - Frustration Level HIGH!!!

If your decedent’s name is a common name, try resubmitting with the decedent’s full middle name instead of a middle initial.  That has worked for us a few times.

I've also had this happen when the address was entered incorrectly - the zip code was off by one digit -  or the direction goes before the street number instead of after, or if a person never changed their name with the IRS after getting married, or went by their middle name or a nickname, etc. 

 

Make sure all of the information is EXACTLY the same as what the IRS has in their records.

So, I went to apply for an EIN for my latest estate filing. I go through the entire online application and hit Submit. Error code 101. Of course, I try another 4 or 5 times just to see if I can get it to go – Nope….  So then I call the # on the error message - 1-800-DoNotCallUs

I call and work my way through the phone tree. Then it tells me, “We’re too busy, call back another day.” WTF?

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Any suggested solutions?
