If there are investment assets in both names, I have found joint probates to be somewhat problematic. Financial institutions want Letters to match EIN and EINs for joint estates are a whole different problem.

Joint Probate is an option, probably the easiest. It doesn't mean you ignore either will, just that administration is combined for ease.

Hello All,

I know we have had a lot of information exchanged about close in time deaths but I'm hoping some of you won't mind sharing again.

Husband and Wife died within about 6 weeks of each other - both had Wills with potential surviving spouse trusts for Medicaid planning, otherwise, outright to spouse.  Remainder beneficiaries in each Will is the same (a charity).  I am trying to decide what options I may have and any thoughts are appreciated.
