Hello Michael,

I follow essentially the same format as Brent. I state the hard dates and sometimes insert disclaimers, such as 'to the best of my knowledge.' I had one pesky escrow company a little while ago, so I called and spoke with them.
Somehow, they were under the impression that the house we were selling was worth much more than it actually was.
A Simple phone call cleared everything up.

What I do is state what I can (and it has always worked - thus far).

My letter goes something like this:
1) Probate was opened on this date __________
2) Notice to DOR and DSHS occurred on this date ___________
3) There has been no communication from either as of today's date.
4) Based upon the information provided by the Executor/Administrator/PR - the estate is valued at less than the estate tax exemption threshold.

That has always been sufficient with the various companies that have requested them.
