[WSBAPT] Mental Health Directive - RCW 73.32.260

Good Morning Jeff -

I have had clients where we included this in their estate planning
documents. Each time, the answers were created in a time when the client
and their provider advised that they were not incapacitated (both were
Bi-Polar/Manic Depressive) and capable of establishing their wishes for a
time when they would inevitably be imbalanced.

Working with the heath care provider is not required - but I am glad that I
had my client suggesting it so that everyone (the client, their spouse, the
doctor, and I) were all on the same page simply because when an "episode"
occurs, they need to have parameters set in place.

Just as a side note - for all of the details that we get about families,
personal stories, history, trauma/drama in a family - nothing was as
in-depth and personal as hearing the details associated with how they are
when an imbalance occurs and they require hospitalization.
