Subject: [WSBAPT] Low Income Man Seeking Assistance after Death of Unmarried Partner

I received a call from a case worker regarding a low-income man (potential client) whose long-term (same-sex) partner has died.  Partner did not have a will, and the partner acquired their home in Snohomish County before the relationship.  Potential client has be contributing to the mortgage—I’m not sure how much.  Partner’s family wants to sell the house.

Unfortunately, I think he’s out of luck, but maybe I’m missing something?  Is there someone that would be willing to consult with him on a pro bono or reduced fee basis?
