Best bet is to open the testate estate with a copy of the Will and include in the petition/order that you want to access the safe deposit box to obtain the original.
If you need sample pleadings on admitting a copy, email me privately and I will share one with you that I did and it worked perfectly.  I don’t know why Whatcom County would be any different than King or Snohomish since RCW 11 is statewide.

Hello,

I have a copy of a Will and the original is likely in the Safe Deposit box. It appears that in Whatcom County, I need to open an intestate Probate to get Letters of Administration that allow the PR to access the box and see if the original will is in there. Does anyone have a Petition and Order they use when the will is found after filing intestate probate?
