Estate planning mentors needed!

The Seattle University School of Law Incubator Program
<https://law.seattleu.edu/centers-and-institutes/access-to-justice-institute/public-interest-and-social-justice/incubator>
is
a program for SU law grads to help solo practitioners and small firms
launch and maintain a practice aimed at serving those of moderate means.
i.e. 200-400% of the federal poverty level.

The mentoring program is approved through the WSBA
<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wsba.org%2Ffor-legal-professionals%2Fmcle%2Fmcle-credit-for-mentorship&data=04%7C01%7Cyeungcy%40seattleu.edu%7Cabd0ecc189ee4195a07708d9be81fd84%7Cbc10e052b01c48499967ee7ec74fc9d8%7C0%7C0%7C637750288841741309%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C2000&sdata=anL%2BP97wy8yZwm3%2BRHXFyDocgIHhrBpJZK3KeLV5gQ4%3D&reserved=0>.
Mentors can receive MCLE credit. This year, the program has six attorneys
who wish to open estate planning firms. Four of them are women of color.
Some are very recent grads and others have substantial experience. The
goals for the mentorship program are to encourage professionalism in the
legal community, help new lawyers bridge the gap between law school and
practice, and encourage professional development.

Mentors are asked to be available for questions and respond promptly when
questions arise. The program runs roughly 11 months from February/March to
December/January. The mentor/mentee will meet at least 6 times, in person
or by Zoom depending on comfort level.

In addition to connection to a mentor, mentees receive monthly meetings
with Stan Perkins ’85 (co-director), access to the Practicing Law Institute
CLE database, Clio, Lexis Nexis, office space/mail service at Stan’s
office, access to a business coach, and substantive mentorship.

This is my first year participating in the program. For questions, please
contact Cindy Yeung, Assistant Dean of the Access to Justice Institute if
you are interested in mentoring! yeungcy at seattleu.edu or 206-398-4455

Thank you!
