Sarah:

I just filed one yesterday and will share the forms when I get into the office in about an hour.

Learned something interesting. An amendment to the RLT a few years ago cuts out all the children and leaves the very modest estate to a charitable organization. We have to send the statutory trust notice letter to the charity but unlike in probate do not have to notify any heirs because they are not qualified beneficiaries of the RLT.

Hello listmates,

I’m posting on behalf of a colleague. He has a client who is the beneficiary of a trust and is interested in taking care of creditors without filing a probate.

Has anyone done a non-probate notice to creditors, and if so are you willing to chat for a few minutes about the procedure? Huge appreciation if you are also willing to share the documents filed to get a Notice Agent appointed.

Thank you,
Sara Longley
