Hi Candace,

In my experience, Protection Orders are kept open.  In King County, Protection Orders have their own case information cover sheet - see attached.  You also should go through the protection order facilitator's office - I am not sure if it is a requirement - to make sure that everything is appropriately delivered to law enforcement.

Hi Listmates,

In November I filed a vulnerable adult protection order petition in King County Superior Court as a civil matter because I couldn't figure out what type of case it should be (the choices for opening a probate matter didn't include a VAPO).  Now I've received my VAPO order from the Ex Parte Dept. but I am not sure how to close the civil case (or whether I should, just in case we have a violation of the VAPO in the future).  Does anyone have any guidance?
