Hi Rob, thanks for your thoughts. Mine wasn't a probate case, but I'll definitely do that if the opportunity arises.

Have you thought about consolidating with the probate under 11.96A? I had a civil case, then brought a VAPO within that civil case. VAPO and 11.96A both have language that seems to allow such things to be part of the same proceeding.

Subject: [WSBAPT] Vulnerable adult protection order petition--what type of case to open in King County?

Hi Listmates,

In November I filed a vulnerable adult protection order petition in King County Superior Court as a civil matter because I couldn't figure out what type of case it should be (the choices for opening a probate matter didn't include a VAPO). Now I've received my VAPO order from the Ex Parte Dept. but I am not sure how to close the civil case (or whether I should, just in case we have a violation of the VAPO in the future). Does anyone have any guidance?

Thanks,
Candace Wilkerson
