Long ago, we used to have an Exhibit A filed with the names, addresses and identification of all heirs/beneficiaries.  That way, when we were obligated to inform the court of updated contact information, we could file an amended Exhibit A.
Why don't you prepare a similar pleadings - List of beneficiaries/heirs of decedent.  Then, you can update and amend with new filing w/o need to amend your petition unless of course, you knew of the heir and didn't list for other reasons which I don't think you are saying here.

I need to add an heir left out of the petition after letters testamentary have already been issued. Do I just file an amended petition to add the heir with the clrek's office, or do I need to have the clerk present it to the court with a new order? Thanks in advance!
