All,

Is a GAL required to be appointed for a minor (17 yrs old) beneficiary of a
testamentary trust? The minor is the sole beneficiary and trust assets are
significant. The beneficiary's mother is ex-wife of decedent, she is listed
as guardian in decedent's Will, but regardless, has full custody of minor
beneficiary. Probate is open and named Trustee has just opened the trust
account. Minor will be turning 18 within the next 6-8 months. The trust is a
HEMS standard that only allows outright distributions in percentages at ages
25, 30 and 35.

Thanks for your thoughts,
