[WSBAPT] Notice of Decl of completion to Homeless heir -

Hello Listservers  😊

We have a situation we have not run into before and would appreciate the collective experience/knowledge of the group:

It’s an intestate administration with nonintervention powers, Snohomish County Superior – the brother of our client (who is PR/heir) is the only other heir.  Brother is unfortunately an addict in his thirties and is periodically homeless/incarcerated/sometimes shows up to christmas dinner.  For notice of probate Mom (divorced from decedent Dad and not an heir) was able to give notice to Brother and sign declaration of same.

Now we need to close probate, but Brother is currently homeless and not responding to family communication.  We are trying to avoid requesting permission to publish from the court or worse yet, wind up with a GAL for Brother for this probate.  Distributions have all been made, into account in Brother’s name and real property in joint tenancy.  Any suggestions/great solutions/experiences to avoid?  Thank you!    Kate Love
