Subject: Mandatory Malpractice Insurance kerfuffle....

Hello Fellow Members of the Washington State Bar Association,

December 1 is the deadline for submitting comments to the Mandatory
Malpractice Task Force.

Submit your comments to the following email address today or tomorrow -
insurancetaskforce at wsba.org

And here's a handy LINK to all of the comments received as of Nov 21, plus a
spreadsheet summarizing them. How could so many submissions have been "not
indicated/unclear" re pro/con?

I, personally, see big access to justice concerns in potentially taking so
many Members out of the practice of law, which seems contrary to our most
important mission.

I've heard complaints that this is just another Seattle-driven process
characterized by "take member input and ignore it." Hopefully that's not the
case. If so, I assume my fellow governors will see through that. Get your
input in by Friday if this is important to you.

Yours truly,

Paul Swegle, Governor, Dist 7
Washington State Bar Association
