[WSBAPT] named PR has not opened the probate after a year

You can file a petition to open and indicate who has the original will.  if you have a copy, you can file the copy of the will until the original is produced.
Ask for the alternate PR to be appointed.  RCW 11.28.120 provides for appointment of the PR named in the Will.  It does not distinguish between 1st named PR or alternate PR.
If there is a surviving spouse then give notice.  Otherwise, you should be able to do this ex parte by the clerk or in person.
RCW 11.68.041 addresses who is entitled to notice, if any, is necessary.

Subject: [WSBAPT] named PR has not opened the probate after a year

I want to open a probate and have the alternate PR appointed. The first-named PR has failed to do much of anything over the past year, including file the will, and when the siblings ask what is going on always comes up with an excuse. I could ask him to waive, but I'm worried he might then rush to probate the will and then go back to doing nothing.

Any advice on the best way to get the alternate PR appointed?
