Just got a call from a PC - she is the sister of a decedent, visiting from
California. The decedent left behind approximately $5,000 in cash, about
$75,000 in consumer debt, and a will that instructs that money should be
used to pay for funeral and burial expenses.

A friend paid the cremation fee already. The sister/name PR in the Will
(who is not a beneficiary at all) is scrambling to find a way to access the
money from Chase bank, pay back the friend who spent the money for
cremation - but not get stuck having to probate an insolvent estate.

Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for handling?

Thanks!

Brent
