[WSBAPT] Death of PR in Probate - process to replace

I was appointed by the court as the new PR in a case very similar.  My client, the PR died when we were almost done with the estate and no one was left who wanted to serve.  I was able to wrap up the estate and get it done.  If you want my pleadings, email me and I'll send to you.

I have done this before when there was still estate administration work to be completed, and a willing successor Personal Representative stepped up.

I have an old probate (opened in 2012) which had a lot of complexity, some ongoing litigation, etc. All was finally settled about a year ago, except for a final 1041, which was filed timely earlier this year. Main beneficiaries signed receipts and waivers of filing the declaration of completion. The Personal Representative died shortly thereafter, leaving a very small estate bank account.

Who has a duty to notify Court of Personal Representative's death? Is it necessary to go through the process of appointing a successor Personal Representative (not sure we have any volunteers) for the sole purpose of closing the estate? I am not aware of any administration of deceased Personal Representative's estate nor appointment of Personal Representative for her.

Can I simply file a notice with the Court that the Personal Representative has died? The bank has told me that they will eventually hand the small remaining funds over to unclaimed property. Not enough left to appoint a successor and have any left over to distribute.

Hello all:

Was wondering if anyone can share a sample Motion or Petition to Substitute a PR. per RCW 11.68.060. The case here is that that the original appointed Personal Rep unexpectedly died shortly after the opening of his wife's probate, and we are going to substitute a new PR (the original PR's daughter).  As for pleadings, I'm not sure if it needs to be called a Petition or if calling it simply a Motion with supporting Oath and other declinations would work.
