<p class="MsoNormal">I have an old probate (opened in 2012) which had a lot of complexity, some ongoing litigation, etc. All was finally settled about a year ago, except for a final 1041, which was filed timely earlier this year. Main beneficiaries signed receipts
and waivers of filing the declaration of completion. The Personal Representative died shortly thereafter, leaving a very small estate bank account.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Who has a duty to notify Court of Personal Representative’s death? Is it necessary to go through the process of appointing a successor Personal Representative (not sure we have any volunteers) for the sole purpose of closing the estate?
I am not aware of any administration of deceased Personal Representative’s estate nor appointment of Personal Representative for her.

<p class="MsoNormal">Can I simply file a notice with the Court that the Personal Representative has died? The bank has told me that they will eventually hand the small remaining funds over to unclaimed property. Not enough left to appoint a successor and have
