Notice that in cases where you do not have either the dob or ssn, you can still prepare an affidavit/declaration and get the default judgment, but then you may be required to file a bond.

50 USC 3931:

(b)Affidavit requirement

(1)Plaintiff to file affidavit In any action or proceeding covered by this section, the <https://www.law.cornell.edu/definitions/uscode.php?width=840&height=800&iframe=true&def_id=50-USC-94851467-1592426238&term_occur=8&term_src=title:50:chapter:50:subchapter:II:section:3931> court, before entering <https://www.law.cornell.edu/definitions/uscode.php?width=840&height=800&iframe=true&def_id=50-USC-520564372-1592426242&term_occur=7&term_src=title:50:chapter:50:subchapter:II:section:3931> judgment for the plaintiff, shall require the plaintiff to file with the court an affidavit—

You need the defendant’s social security number. Then you can go on a website and it will produce a form saying the person is not in military.
